Walnut Retreat, Mt Martha Project

This project brings together American Black Walnut veneer and refined stone across the kitchen, butler’s pantry and study. The cabinetry features integrated solid timber handles and clean, continuous lines that highlight the natural tone and grain of the walnut.

The curved island includes a solid timber cove detail and a deeper stain, creating a gentle contrast with the surrounding joinery and linking visually to the bar and coffee zones.

Pocket doors keep the coffee and bar areas neatly hidden when not in use. When opened, they reveal a darker interior with integrated lighting and organised storage that sits naturally within the walnut joinery.

Oro Lusso by AC Stone is used for the benchtops and splashbacks. Its soft gloss surface and subtle golden-grey veining add a calm sense of movement, while its durable, non-porous finish ensures it performs well in everyday use.
